The updated version of Hadrone PPM (project and project portfolio management software) has just been delivered to user mailboxes - version v2.42. This is the first release of the year and it includes many new, valuable features and changes that will significantly improve project work.
Among the new features and changes, users will find:
1. Project schedule - highlighting and filtering schedule elements [ROADMAP 2024]
We have introduced the ability to filter schedule elements by specific criteria (previously, only highlighting was available) and expanded the range of criteria that can be used for highlighting. Ultimately, filtering and highlighting schedule elements is possible for:
- activity/milestone name,
- activity/milestone status,
- activity/milestone manager,
- activity/milestone type,
- period (schedule time range: next 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 365 days),
- schedule warnings.
2. Project schedule - quarterly detail level [ROADMAP 2024]
In the project’s Gantt chart, we have added the option to display the schedule with quarterly granularity.
3. Expanding reports with detailed executed expenses reporting [ROADMAP 2024]
We have introduced a new report (Finance >> Project expenses - execution items) allowing reporting of detailed execution entries (e.g., invoices) manually added or imported into projects.
4. Extending permissions to start and close project tasks [ROADMAP 2024]
We have expanded the list of roles authorized to start and complete tasks to include the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Task Manager.
5. Saving default sub-portfolio selection in the portfolio dashboard [ROADMAP 2024]
On the Investments >> Portfolio >> Monitoring >> Dashboard screen, in the sub-portfolio selection list, we have added the option to set a default sub-portfolio that will be displayed when a user enters this screen.
6. Setting the order of classifications [ROADMAP 2024]
In the configuration, we have added the ability to set the order in which classifications are presented in the project during selection and viewing. Previously, it was only possible to set the order of values within a classification, not the order of the classifications themselves.
7. Introducing default amortization period value [ROADMAP 2024]
In the expense category configuration, we have added the ability to define the amortization period for categories marked as CAPEX. Once entered, the appropriate period will be automatically filled in the project’s expense and cannot be changed by the user.
8. Project checklist templates
In the configuration, we have added the ability to create project checklist templates. In a project, it is then possible to import a checklist from a template (or multiple checklists) into the project’s checklist.
9. Programs - list of project risks
In the program module, we have added a „Risks” tab to monitor risks coming from projects included in the program.
10. Programs – list of project decisions
In the program module, we have added a „Decisions” tab to monitor decisions coming from projects included in the program.
11. Milestone classifications
In the configuration, we have added the ability to define classifications for milestones, similar to activity classifications. Milestone classifications can be used in the project schedule. They are also available in schedule templates, reports, reminders, API and Webhooks.
12. Expanding the API in the area of project competences
We have introduced the following API methods related to the use of competences in a project:
- add project's competence commitment,
- delete project's competence commitment,
- set project's competence commitment owner,
- unset project's competence commitment owner,
- modify project's competence commitment baseline value,
- modify project's competence commitment forecast value,
- get project's competence commitment values by months,
- delete project's competence,
- add project's competence,
- set project competence's related expense,
- delete project competence's related expense.
13. Other smaller changes include:
- defining % of work progress when starting an activity,
- ability to collapse the competence list in Competence Analysis,
- searching by extended project name,
- adding an external identifier in the Project Card and Project Card Template,
- adding a „Description” field in email notifications,
- displaying the number of used user accounts in Administration,
- adding filtering of inactive users in the user account list,
- project copying - separating general project tasks,
- other minor changes and bug fixes.
