We have just released the latest version of the Hadrone PPM software, in which we introduced both the main functionalities announced in the roadmap and other changes resulting from our ideas and ongoing customer requests. So, what's new in Hadrone PPM?

1. Commitments [ROADMAP 2024]

We introduced the commitments functionality, which allows better control of the project budget status. Commitments fill the existing gap between planning an expenditure and its execution, allowing the budget status of the project to be tracked by also considering reserved funds, not just those already actually spent.

As part of system configuration, commitment statuses are added, allowing the monitoring of the reservation progress (e.g. submitted request, approval obtained, order sent to supplier, order accepted by supplier, service/product delivered).

Work with commitments takes place within the project. At the program and portfolio levels, it is also possible to monitor incurred commitments in relation to the baseline expenditure values in the projects.

The commitment functionality has also been included in the API and in webhooks, enabling automatic communication with procurement systems.

2. Cancelling an activity and milestone [ROADMAP 2024]

The functionality of cancelling an activity and milestone in a project allows activities and milestones to be marked as cancelled without the need to delete them. The cancellation marking can also be reversed.

Schedule elements marked as cancelled are presented accordingly on screens. No email reminders are sent for such elements. Additionally, the progress of activities marked as cancelled is not included in the calculation of overall project progress.

Since the treatment of cancelled activities and milestones may vary across organizations, marking a schedule element as cancelled does not block work with that element. In particular, tasks related to a cancelled activity can still be carried out, although the user will be aware that they are working within a cancelled activity.

The functionality of cancelling activities and milestones has been included in the Project card and in the Project card template (option to omit cancelled elements), as well as in reports, notifications, the API and webhooks. Marking elements as cancelled is also logged.

3. Notification settings [ROADMAP 2024]

We introduced the ability to enable and disable sending individual notifications globally (in the configuration) and in specific projects and programs.

In the project and program, global notification settings can be used or local settings can be selected, applying only to the chosen project/program.

4. Displaying the number of comments, links and files in MS Teams added to the RAG report

In RAG reports in the project (in the RAG report list and on the project status) and in the program (in the RAG report list and on the program status), we added information about the number of added comments, links and files in MS Teams.

Thanks to this, the user can immediately see whether anything has been added to a given RAG report and how many elements were added (comments, links and MS Teams files).

5. Adding information about project duration

Information about the project duration was added in the project next to its description (schedule section) and on the project status.

6. Other changes introduced in the latest version:

  • API method for reading work time entries – added description of reported work time,
  • reporting work time in a task – changed the clock icon to a button,
  • in a task – moved the Copy" and Delete" functionalities to the "..." menu,
  • modified the appearance of the organization in the project.
